Coffins were made to look like humans. The face was usually
a portrait of the person that it carried. They thought afterlife was more important than
life thats why they kept the heart in. It usually took a lot of preparation to prepare kings for burial. They
believed that the bodies of the pharaohs should be preserved. Death was not a big deal. They thought that one day they could bring back the dead.
They used the process of mummification. It took 70 days. At first they took out all the organs, except the heart, because they believed that they would need it to enter afterlife. They also believed that the heart did all the thinking not the brain. They covered the body in oil and perfume. Next they wrapped the body in linen bandages.
They believed in polytheism. Polytheism is the worship of many gods. There were many gods so it would be hard to not worship many gods.
